Mixtura werkt op projectbasis. Voor projecten en onderzoek wordt een interdisciplinair team van freelancers samengesteld of wordt samengewerkt met andere organisaties.
Mixtura heeft langlopende samenwerkingsverbanden, bestaande uit meerdere projecten, met Roland Groenenboom/Sensational Fix en Katja Vercouteren/Haperende Mens, maar ook incidentele partners voor een specifiek project, zoals V2_organisatie.
Mixtura werkt ook in opdracht, zoals voor Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten en Witte de With, Centrum voor Hedendaagse Kunst.
Stichting Mixtura is op 22 mei 2002 door Nathalie Houtermans en Mabel Hietbrink opgericht. Alex Adriaansens (directeur V2_organisatie, instituut voor instabiele media) is bestuursvoorzitter van de stichting.

Workshop by experimental filmmaker Esther Urlus in a community center in the South of Rotterdam. Part of a workshop series about art and the five senses, entitled ” Smell paintings and eat sculptures”, during which residents of the Hillesluis neighbourhood were introduced to contemporary art practises, mainly by making use of regular household items and equipment.
